Unlikely animal friendships
Intro
Hello to all,
I would just like to start by introducing this blog and its purpose. It has no real purpose, its just a place for me to post things that I find interesting, from photography to quotes to anything really. Also, it hasn't exactly been made for anyone in particular, for all I care its just floating around, busy simply existing in the universe of the world wide web.
I also would like to explain the meaning behind the name I have given it. The other day I discovered this Japanese word: wabi-sabi, which is known as one of the most complicated words to translate into english. The definition I read stated that wabi-sabi could be understood as a way of living that focuses on finding beauty within the imperfections of life and accepting peacefully the transience, natural cycle, of all things.
I believe that perfection is overrated, even though sometimes its difficult to fully accept that. The imperfections are where your life lessons truly come from, an imperfect marriage, imperfect friendships, imperfect decisions, etc. I cherish the imperfect, because from there is where you can direct yourself towards perfect, even if you never get there. I also love the transient nature of life. Its something I always look forward to, the ever changing and surprising nature of living out the different stages and parts of your own life story, because thats exactly what it is, a story. With a natural and gradual progression of the main character, numerous side characters entering and exiting, some plot twists, some form of climax, etc. Its exciting to me that nothing lasts forever. I get that to some people that might seem strange, however if everything lasted forever, we wouldn't appreciate those precious moments and memories of the events of our past as much as we do now. I think of every change as a change in chapter, a chapter ends and a new one begins as life goes on. It helps me organise my memories and the different versions of myself that have existed and that I reflect on. Im quite a nostalgic person.
Anyways, I chose this word because I just loved its meaning, simple as that. I love that one word can carry with it so much weight. One word, that in the english language would take several to describe.
So I guess I should say, welcome and I hope you enjoy the imperfections and evolutions of this blog.
